These controllers seamlessly integrate the SXE environment sensor/controller with an intelligent relay module, crafting an autonomous environmental controller tailored for fundamental applications. The SXE sensor establishes a direct link to the intelligent relay, empowering independent operation of one, four, or up to eight devices, depending on the chosen model.

Gain precise control over temperature, humidity, and optional CO2 values, complemented by advanced 24-hour and repeat cycle timers. The system intelligently determines day/night set points based on ambient light levels, courtesy of the light sensor atop the SXE unit.

Boasting a built-in aspirator fan, the system ensures a continuous flow of air over the sensors, guaranteeing accurate readings and swift responses to changing conditions. For added convenience, a removable and washable air filter is included.

The SXE environment sensor showcases a user-friendly color display for seamless monitoring of sensor readings and easy configuration of control settings. The internal data logging memory captures a 120-point graphical history on the screen, while the extensive 21,600 data points can be effortlessly downloaded using the LX1 USB AgrowLINK and free computer software.

Select from the MXC1, MXC4, or MXC8 systems, each offering relay control with 120v outlets or multiple pairs of open dry contacts. For enhanced flexibility, the Agrowtek LX1 AgrowLink facilitates onsite PC configuration, firmware updates, data logging, and more. Each system includes:

ONLY ONE relay device may be connected to the SXE sensor at once. For multiple sensor and relay configurations, Agowtek offers the industry leading GrowControl GXC master controller. When paired with the GrowControl GCX Controller, you gain the ability to control all aspects of your facility's climate and hydroponics systems from the comfort of your own home. SXE Description

Setting Up the MCX System

Connect the sensor to the relay using the included cross-over ethernet cable as shown in the diagram. (RX4i shown for example)

Important: ONLY use cross-over adapters provided by Agrowtek. Incorrect cross-over adapters or cables can cause damage to the equipment.

SXE Connection to Relay

The RX1i is meant to be power by plugging into a 120Vac wall outlet. The RX4i can be purchased with a 120Vac wall outlet, if there is no power cord installed on the RX4i, one may be installed (14AWG minimum) or the RX4i may be directly wired to a 15A circuit breaker using standard 1/2” EMT conduit and fittings. The RD8i comes standard with a 24Vdc 12w power supply, alternatively, 12-24Vdc may be supplied to the RD8i via a terminal block inside the unit. Red LED indicator lights turn on when AC power is activated to the receptacles.


Typical Configuration

Shown in this example is the MCX4. The GrowControl RX4i relay independently operates four receptacles for control of equipment such as: irrigation pumps, CO2 equipment, fans, lighting trigger cords, etc. Connects instantly to Agrowtek's GCX Cultivation Controls or to a SXE sensor via a GrowNET™ port for advanced automated control functions.

LED indicators on the front panel provide status of each outlet. Rugged metal enclosure for wall mounting. Conduit knock-outs and screw terminals for easy electrical installation.
